About

Jennifer LawlorHello! I’m Jennifer Lawlor. My passion is working with communities to understand, share information, and move to action on complex problems.

I am currently a Network Data Scientist at Visible Network Labs. I hold an MA and PhD in ecological-community psychology from Michigan State University and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at University of Michigan’s School of Information.

My research interests center around understanding how people collaborate and share information to manage complex problems in community settings, with a particular focus on coalitions. I also study how tools from complexity science and systems thinking can improve understanding of social issues. I am invested in conducting community engaged research and have collaborated with partners working on improving postsecondary attainment, early childhood service systems, and local and regional food systems. When I’m not doing research, I enjoy hiking, playing the fiddle, and baking.
